Prompting the model to generate a 2×3 (or NxM) grid of sequential panels in a single image does not work for production comics.
We tested this approach: one prompt describing 6 sequential frames arranged in a 2-column, 3-row grid. The model generates the grid layout, but the results are not usable for final production.
But for these uses, just describe the concept verbally or sketch it. The grid adds cost without adding real value.
Do not use storyboard grids for panel generation. Generate individual panels sequentially. The cost difference is negligible ($0.04 vs $0.007/frame) and the quality difference is not.
